Welcome to TJ Kids

TJ Kids is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company delivering quality out-of-school provision to childen and families in and around Cambridge.
TJ Kids Clubs

TJ Kids CIC runs Breakfast, After School and Holiday clubs located within our base at 13th Cambridge Scout Hut in Marmora Road CB1 3PY. We are the Wrap around Childcare provider for St Philips Primary School in Vinery Way Cambridge and also welcome children from all across the city. Our Wraparound Childcare is delivered by qualified staff who have all undertaken enhanced DBS checks and attended regular Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid training to ensure our services are of a high quality. Staff are trained to NVQ level 2 and 3 in Playwork, Level 3 Forest School Leader and Level 2 Forest School Assistants. Staff have been trained in the Prevent Duty and fully understand the importance of keeping children safe and promoting their welfare. All our staff attend continuous professional development training in a wide range of courses. Staff have many years of experience of providing play opportunities for children, supporting our families and building a strong community.

We have great facilities including a large outside play space, large indoor hall and a kitchen. Great facilities enable us to further enhance our provision and we are proud to have been a part of the Governments HAF scheme recently which supports families to continue to get free meals and activities during holidays.

We also go off site to a number of local venues these include the local park that boasts fantastic climbing boulders along with some great play equipment and forest areas which we use for team games. We use the Wilderbase which is based in Romsey where we carry out Forest School sessions and more Adventuorous activities. We have built an outdoor classroom recently at the Wilderbase, complete with tables and stools and a vast amount of resources that children can freely access and choose from. Children benefit greatly from making their own independant deceisions about their play and we support them fully in order to maximise their enjoyment.

Staff work alongside the playwork principles and Loose parts play to ensure childen get the most out of their play experiences when they are attending our clubs. We offer a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, construction resources, messy play, calm and relaxation space, role play, sport, film and music, plus much, much more.

We offer a wide range of snack which children can choose from and supported to prepare themselves from the selection provided. Drinks are available at all times and any special dietary requiments are always taken into consideration.

We always believe in involving childen in their play choices and encourage children to share their ideas and let staff know their favourite games and activities so that we can plan and deliver a service that meets their needs.

Parents views and feedback are essential, we know that its important to know your child is getting the best possible care when they are not with you. We are always available for a chat and our services are set up to be as flexible as they can.

TJ Kids CIC also has regular involvement with other local schools  as well as being hired by local business for Corparate Family Fun Days and Events.
